New York is a fantastic place to visit – there is so much to see and do there. Unless you’re able to afford a holiday for a long period of time though, you need to make sure you prioritise  where you want to visit otherwise you won’t get to see everything that you want to. Also, I’d advise that you plan some different types of trips into your schedule, otherwise sightseeing can get a bit tiring after a while.

For example, you can go and see a baseball game quite easily. There is usually a game on most days during the season, and tickets aren’t difficult to get unless it is a big game. We went to see the New York Mets, and it was a good experience, although the game itself wasn’t the best. The great thing about baseball is all the food stalls dotted around the stadium!

The National History Museum is also a fun place to visit, although you really need a whole day if you want to see everything. If you want something that doesn’t require a lot of walking then it may not be the best choice though, because it is a huge place and there is a lot to see.

Another place to see is Chinatown. Although some people say it’s a bit too touristy it’s still worth visiting – even if you just want to say you’ve been there.

The most important thing is planning what you want to see! Otherwise you could waste your trip, although you’re still bound to have fun.

I’ve lost a lot of fitness over the last few years, so here’s my new plan for getting into shape! If you’ve got any comments or think that I’m doing something wrong, please let me know in the comments section so I don’t waste my time! I will try to keep this blog updated with how it goes, maybe that will give some motivation to others who want to try and get into shape. To clarify, I don’t think I’m over weight, but with the football season starting it’s important to be as fit as possible. Anyway, let’s begin!

Jogging three times a week. I’ll gradually build this up over the coming weeks – the worst thing to do is start running straight away and getting an injury. I’ll probably just run on the roads around where I live, although there are some trails that might be more interesting too.

Gym twice a week. On days that I’m not going running or playing football I’ll try the gym and use the weights, cross trainer and bike. I’ll avoid the treadmill to give the legs a chance to recover after running.

Game once a week. The team I play for don’t have training at the moment (hence the need for me to do it myself), but we have a game once a week. Obviously on this day I won’t do any other training!

So, what do you think? Too much? Too little? It would be great to hear what your routine is and how you’re getting on.

I was thinking the other day, could I live without the internet? I decided that I probably could – people lived without any form of technology for a long time – but I wouldn’t want to. The internet gets a lot of stick for being inaccurate and full of bad information – which is partly true – but it’s still got a lot of great things about it.

Keeping in touch with friends is a lot easier on the internet. I still keep in touch with friends from school, some of which I probably wouldn’t have without the help of social networking sites. Facebook has a lot of problems, but it does make this aspect of social life a lot easier.

There is lots of bad information on the internet, but there’s also a lot of good stuff. It’s usually pretty easy to tell the true expert from the person who just thinks they are, although it isn’t usually as easy as just looking at how professional the design is. In other words, as long as you are careful, the internet can be a fantastic resource, and one that I definitely wouldn’t want to be without for any long period of time. Luckily, the internet looks like it’s here to stay!
